The Ali Arc Story: Built on Innovation, Driven by Protection

Ali Arc Industries LP, under its current ownership, celebrates 30 years in 2025 with a clear vision: to build high-quality truck bumpers and bars that offer superior front-end protection. Originally based in New Zealand, Ali Arc began by manufacturing “bull bars” for the light commercial vehicle market. It wasn’t long before our focus expanded — developing rugged protection solutions specifically for the heavy-duty truck industry.

In the early 1990s, staying true to our entrepreneurial spirit, Ali Arc began exporting truck bars to Canada. The response from the North American market was overwhelming. In 1995, to meet this growing demand, we established a manufacturing facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba — and Ali Arc Industries LP was born.

Why Winnipeg?

The decision to base operations in Winnipeg came down to two strategic factors. First, a major order for truck bumpers and bars came from a prominent Winnipeg-based transportation company. Second, Winnipeg’s location — midway between Canada’s East and West coasts and just 100 km from the U.S. border — made it an ideal distribution hub for North American logistics.

Ali Arc’s Winnipeg facility was initially led by Mr. Brian Tapa, a founding partner from New Zealand, exemplifying our commitment to hands-on management. After successfully establishing the brand in Canada, Brian returned to New Zealand in 2001 but continues to guide Ali Arc in his role as Chief Executive Officer.

Growth Backed by Quality and Technology

We began in a modest shop on Lagimodiere Boulevard, but growing demand for our truck bumpers and bars quickly led to expansion. Today, Ali Arc operates from a 36,000 sq. ft. ISO 9001-certified manufacturing facility in the Terracon Business Park, Winnipeg.

While we specialize in manufacturing truck and pickup collision protection guards, our innovative spirit drives us to continually expand our product range. We also produce aluminum truck accessories and dock ladders — always with the same commitment to strength, safety, and quality.
